Even if you’re new to the world of cannabis, you may have heard the word Kush in reference to a weed strain. It’s in songs and many mainstream rappers who are OG love them some kush. And kush takes on a lot of different names as well such as purple kush, pink kush, bubba kush, OG kush, yo mammas kush, took it in the kush, etc. Ok…I may have made up the last two kush names, but kush nonetheless is a very popular and broad strain.

Each kush strain will be different as well. It’s not a case of one kush fits all. Depending on the genetics, one kush may feel more like a true indica while another hybrid may resemble more of a sativa. So you need to pay attention to the terpenes. The terpenes are the driver when it comes to the effects you will feel.
So without further ado, let’s delve into my latest experience with Pakistani Chitral Kush or PCK as it’s known. This strain is a true indica. It originated in the Chitral area of Pakistan which is known for its high quality hash. The strain is indigenous to that area of Pakistan and they have tried to keep the genetics as pure as possible by only breeding within the strain…no cross breeding. Consistency is the name of the game with PCK. Whether it’s a nice bud or a pre-roll you are trying, the experience will be closely similar from one purchase to the next. That is great news if you love the strain. I LOVE this strain.
Again, I tried this strain via a pre-roll from my most fav local MMJ dispensary (Vidacann). I bought two pre-rolls actually so I can speak to it’s consistency. Looking at the particular batch and lot of the pre-rolls that I bought, they come in around 16%THC which is low by a lot of people’s standards. But the THC level is only part of the overall experience. This is where the terpenes come in. PCK’s most prevalent terpenes that you find referenced on other review sites will be Myrcene, Limonene and Caryophyllene. But the lab report for my particular product also is higher in Borneol. Myrcene and Borneol are the terpenes that give you that body buzz via relaxed muscles and almost instant muscle pain relief. So pay attention to terpenes as much as you do the THC level.

So with that all as a backdrop, you are probably already wanting me to get to “how did this make me feel” part of the post. Patience young Jedi, patience. Almost to that point, but first let’s talk about the quality of the cannabis. It burns well. Both pre-rolls burned and smoked very evenly (no runners or canoes as they are called). The smoke was heavy but no burning of the lungs or in the back of the throat. It was so easy to smoke and enjoy. The flavor profile comes across more earthy than citrus-like. Some might call it a little spicy and gassy, but not too much. It was a nice enjoyable smoke in both flavor and scent.
Ok ok…on to the effects. Knowing now that the terpenes in this strain are of the kind that promote relaxation and muscle pain relief, it is no surprise to hear that this strain caused me to want to hit the couch, turn on some Marvin Gay and just sit back and relax. It was not 100% couch lock, but I can see where many won’t want to depart the couch once they land. So if you are taking this for sleep…ya might want to go ahead and jump in the sack after you know the effects are starting to hit. Some indica strains have given me the munchies, but PCK did not. It allowed me to ease into sleep completely pain free and relaxed. My brain was torn between wanting to watch some TV or just turning on some music to chill to. I opted for music and it was the right choice. I just felt completely at ease, both mentally and physically, even though this strain is more like 90% body high and 10% cerebral. The cerebral part allowed for your mind to drift away from anything stressful which then enhanced the body high.

So I give PCK a HUGE thumbs up. If it is accessible in your area…give it a try (legally of course). Have you tried it already? Leave your comments and/or questions below. Would love to hear from you.
