Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) Strain Review

No we are not talking about thin mints or tagalongs. The Girl Scout Cookies I am referring to is the nice little bud strain aka..wacky weed.

GSC, as it is more known by today, is a hybrid that is a cross between OG Kush and Durban Poison. To me, this is a true hybrid. I can’t really say it was an indica or sativa leaning hybrid. I will get to more of that in a moment.

My mode of trying this strain was via a nice .5 gram pre-roll from my local dispensary (Vidacann). Their pre-rolls are very consistent. They are packed well and they burn evenly from my experience. This pre-roll came in under 15% THC which is low by a lot of folks standards. But again…terpenes are equally as important as levels of THC and GSC comes loaded with some wonderful terps that help with everything from pain relief to lowering inflammation.

The limonene comes out in the scent as you light it up which will immediately start to elevate your mood. Then the humelene terp comes out as well and you can taste a little of what seems like hops or even a little spice like coriander. Overall the taste and scent are very pleasing.

But again…you are probably wanting to hurry and get to the effects. If you read some earlier posts, especially the one telling how I became a MMJ legal user here in FL, you know that I have suffered from IBS and chronic neck pain for years. I have had a plate put in my neck once but the pain came back about 2 years post surgery. So I tend to look for strains that can help with digestive issues as well as pain management. GSC is a bullseye for those two conditions.

I will warn you now. If you are a new MMJ user, GSC may not be one that you want to try until you get a little more used to the variety of effects that cannabis can bring to the table..so to speak. But if you are like me…throw those warnings out the window and puff puff! Just make sure to puff puff slowly with this one. GSC can be a bit of a creeper, in my experience. I can smoke about ¼ of the pre-roll and think, “huh…this is a bit of a nothing burger.” But then about 10 minutes later…shebang!

Once GSC hits with full effects, the medical benefits were off the charts. As I mentioned earlier, I have chronic pain in my neck. GSC caused all of that pain to melt away. It literally felt like someone had put warm towels all over my body which caused all muscles to simply relax at the same time. And when you are at full effect, that cerebral part of this hybrid also hits. You will feel the giddiness start to approach and then you will find that you are just simply at a happy place mentally. So is GSC a sativa-leaning strain or an indica-leaning one? I really have to say it was a wonderful balanced mix of both without that sativa burst of energy. It’s not a hybrid that I would try in the middle of the day when I still needed to get some things done. It’s your “end of the day” strain, in my opinion.

So my advice with GSC is to puff puff and then take Toby Keith’s advice and “kick back and let it do what it do.” My guess is you will enjoy it as much as I did. Is it my top strain so far? No, but it’s in the running for second place.

What’s your experience with GSC, if any? It should be noted that everyone’s experience will be different from strain to strain so I would love to hear other’s experiences in the comments below.
