Cannabis costs are not immune to inflation it seems. As the cost of gas and food increases, so does the cost of my monthly cannabis stash. So what I thought I would do in this short post is show one way of getting more mileage out of your MMJ supply.

Here is one way I am trying to lower my costs. First I start by shopping for sales on concentrates. Concentrates, for me, last the longest out of all forms of cannabis. An eighth of flower only gets me about 4 days. The same goes with edibles that I get from a dispensary. I may get 2 weeks from one vape cart. But when it comes to concentrates, I can get almost 3 weeks from one gram. Yes yes…I know that is going to vary from person to person, but this is MY experience. So if I can find a concentrate on sale, it is one way for me to curb some of the inflationary pain.
Then secondly, I have tried to find concentrate syringes on sale. Some of our local dispensaries have sales for 1 gram in a syringe for $30-$35. When I find them at that price, I get one and then come home and use the concentrate to make my own homemade edibles.
In our part of the Country, 100mg of edibles cost @$20 to $25 (10, 10mg pieces). That would last me about 5 days, at the most. So if I can find a syringe of concentrate for $30-$35 on sale (even $45), I can now turn that into at least 40 gummy bears. Doing simple math, if I yield 40 gummies, that equates to about 25mg per edible, more than double the amount in each edible from a dispensary and 4 times the amount of edibles for the price.
How can that not be a great deal? More potent edibles and more edibles for the same cost of edibles being sold from a dispensary, assuming you can make them yourself at home. And if you need help making your own edibles, this is the recipe I use and have found to be fairly simple.
1 packet of gelatin, 1 box of flavored jello, ½ tsp of Lecithin, ½ tsp of corn starch and 1 gram of concentrate (liquid form). The steps to follow can be found in this video link on YouTube.
I hope this helps you and allows your MMJ dollars to go a little further in these trying times. Let me know if you try the homemade edibles and how they worked for you.
