Ooze Verge (A Non-Paid Review)

Needless to say all of my reviews are non-paid or not sponsored. My blog is not large enough to garner that kind of attention. So rest assured all of my reviews are honest and blunt (no pun intended).

So let’s get into this review of the new Ooze Verge dry herb rig. I have been on the hunt for a dry herb device for awhile. I tried a “budget” device (under $50 earlier this year and I was starting to think this dry herb vaping was more trouble than it’s worth. Maybe I will do a review soon where I talk about how bad that “budget” device was.

I have been looking to try a modality of intake that did not make me congested. I love a good bong rip as much as anyone, but my lungs do not appreciate daily bong rips. I heard that dry herb vaping was a way of getting that goodness in me without too much of the mucous buildup that you get with combusting. So after some more research I stumbled upon the Ooze Verge (priced above the $100 mark). Let me just say…it is fast becoming my most preferred e-rig in my collection. Let me tell you why.

I need something that is easy to use for me to regularly use it. If it is too clunky or hard to clean, it might be used once or twice but then it would most likely be put back on the shelf to collect dust bunnies. The Ooze Verge is VERY user friendly. It takes one simple step to turn it on (5 clicks). Then you can adjust temp on the home screen with the up or down arrows below the OLED display. Then to choose a sesh time, simply click it 3 times and the time comes on the screen and you can then adjust again with the up or down arrows. Once you select the time and temp, it is time to load the device with your flower. Their special chamber (I won’t go into all of the specs that make their chamber better or different), boasts a capacity of a 0.5g. That is a lot more than most of the handheld dry herb vape rigs (i.e most Dynavaps, Yokan’s Evolve etc). Once you have the chamber loaded with your fav ground flower, you hold the buttons down for 2 seconds and the heat cycle begins. Wait around 30-45 seconds for it to heat up (depending on the temp you select) and viola…you are good to go and it really is that easy.

So not only is it very easy to use, it does a fantastic job with your herb. I have tried temps from 350 degrees up to 415 and sesh times from 3 minutes to 5 minutes. Each time the herb has been vaped to perfection. The vape cloud varied based on the temp selected, naturally, but the herb was thoroughly vaped after each sesh and ready to be stored in your AVB stash jar for future use (yes you can still use the already vaped bud later in other forms so don’t throw it out!).

Now…to the effects felt. I was a bit concerned that I would end up using more of my precious herb via vaping than I would going the traditional combustion route. I had my doubts that I would feel the same effects assuming I was consuming the same amount of herb. Maybe it’s because you know that not all of the THC is being consumed off of your herb since there is still some present in your AVB. But I am here to tell you that if you smoke 0.5gm and then the next day vape 0.5gm, you will notice little difference in the effects felt. That is my experience anyways. And I believe a lot of that has to do with the efficiency of the rig you are using. The Ooze Verge is VERY efficient with your herb.

And last of all…I bet you are wondering how easy it is to clean. Well let me tell you it is a breeze. The vaped herb literally just falls out of the chamber after use. The device comes with a little brush to get in and clean all of the little bits out but you really don’t need to even use it most of the time. I am here to tell you that if it was a pain to clean, I would not be writing this favorable review.

Which goes to my last comments about this device. As I said in the beginning, I need things to be easy for me to want to use something more than a time or two. I am a daily cannabis user and I don’t need clunky devices that have hard to read displays or no display at all and it takes 5 clicks for one thing, 4 clicks for another, 3 for even another function etc. I don’t need a device that has so many nooks and crannies that it takes a soaking and scrubbing to get something clean. I am a believer in keeping your rigs as clean as possible so I clean mine DAILY. Anything too hard to clean gets left on the shelf. I have now used my new Ooze Verge for at least the past 10 nights and I have been nothing but impressed and very happy. My lungs already seem happier. I will say that the flavor you get out of a dry herb device is not the same as when you combust, but I am willing to sacrifice the terpene taste for a healthier overall experience as well as now getting even more mileage out of my herb. Cannabis costs are sky high in medical markets and getting more bang for my buck is a win-win if you ask me.

So this is my full endorsement for the Ooze Verge. And don’t forget to add the water pipe attachment when you go to purchase yours. It’s a nice add on when you want even a smoother and cooler draw.

What is your dry herb experience? Have you tried it yet? Leave a comment and let me know.
